Budget planning for individuals and families

Personal budgeting sounds simple until you sit down to do it. The Balancrix personal service exists to make it simple in practice: a real person helps you look at your actual income and expenses, you agree together on a plan, and you leave with something written down that you can follow without a finance degree.

Who the personal service is for

We work with all kinds of households, but most clients come to us at one of a few familiar moments. Starting out — first job, first apartment, first time anyone has asked them to think beyond the next paycheck. Couples and families — two incomes, several goals, and a growing sense that money arguments are really plan arguments. Variable income — freelancers, gig workers, commission earners and seasonal workers whose income changes every month and who need a plan that flexes with reality. A specific goal — a move, a wedding, a trip, a car, a new baby, or simply the wish to stop living payday to payday.

If any of those sound familiar, you are exactly who we built this for. You do not need to be good with numbers, and you do not need to bring perfect records. We will work with whatever you have.

How a personal plan works

The process has four parts, and you are involved in all of them. In the intro session you talk with your planner about your income, your regular costs and what you are planning toward. In the planning session you go through your numbers together, category by category, and make the decisions that turn a pile of transactions into a plan with your priorities in it. Your planner then writes your budget plan — a short, plain-English document — and delivers it with the worksheet kit: simple monthly sheets for tracking spending as the year goes on.

Most clients are surprised by how little friction there is. You do not need to learn a new system, buy anything, or keep complicated records. The worksheets are paper-style pages, and if you prefer, your planner will show you how to keep the same records in a simple notebook or on your own paper ledger. The method matters, not the medium.

Topics we help with

What a plan looks like

A Balancrix personal plan is usually two or three pages. The first page states your regular income and your planned spending by category. The second shows your goals — each with a monthly amount and a target date you chose. The third is a one-page summary: income, planned spending, savings and the one habit you are working on this month. No ratios you have to hit, no guilt, no jargon. If a category is tight, the plan says so and suggests a realistic range rather than a perfect number.

Keeping the plan alive

A plan written in January is usually wrong by March — not because it was bad, but because life happened. The monthly membership is our answer: a short session each month to compare the plan with reality, adjust the categories that moved, and set the focus for the month ahead. Between sessions your planner sends a brief check-in. Members describe the effect as accountability without the guilt: someone who knows your plan and simply asks how it is going.

Prices and guarantee

The personal budget plan is a one-time service, and the membership is a monthly plan you can pause or cancel at any time. Full prices are on the pricing page, and every paid service is covered by our 14-day guarantee in the refund policy: if the service does not meet your expectations, tell us and we will refund it.

An honest note

Balancrix is an educational planning service. We do not give investment advice, prepare taxes, manage your accounts or move your money — and we will never ask for access to your bank or card accounts. What we offer is a clear, written plan and a person to keep it honest. For anything beyond budgeting, we will point you to the right kind of professional. See the disclaimer for the full statement.
